No, it’s not the class they have forgotten to introduce in Diablo 3 – it’s a book of certain significance to modern culture and, more important, my favorite one. It was written by William Gibson in 1984 and time had been kind to it (Okay he did’t anticipate mobile phones but really, who cares?) It’s a great piece of literature and it’s opening sentence is one of the most qouted lines in modern fiction. “The sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel. ” Everyone living in a major city should be familiar with that thought – the faint and lurking glow of life at dawn.
